For a few years now I have made a promise to myself that I would spend my birthday being out of office at home or in another city and so far it has been successfull.
This year, and actually last week, we (and by we I mean together with my hubz) traveled far beyond my fave city Brasov and into the mountains all the way to Tusnad in Harghita County.
Tusnad is a small, small city, about 1000 people – actually crazy small compared to Bucharest and it’s chaos – and it’s known for the thermal water and spa treatments.
This was our third time visiting Tusnad, if you’re a follower of mine you might remember that we were visited by a momma bear and her cubs while in the forest of Lake Saint Anna an year or so ago – Out of office storytime.
This time our vacation was less adventurous, not that running in the forest to give momma bear her space wasn’t exciting, I think that a boring holiday is also desired. We explored the wellness center and its pools, we walked a lot in the city, near the forest, it was a good long weekend.
We also found some stray doggos, but we didn’t have any food to give them so by the time we got some food for them they weren’t anywhere anymore so we circled the town to look for them. We found them in the last day, so I was happy to feed them.
I leave here some of the pictures I took, to be honest the areas I could take pictures of was not very broad, but it felt really good to take the camera again and play with it, as according to my google photos, the last time I used my camera was a month ago 🙁

The Kurtos – the famous chimney cake – stand was closed so we went nearby at a cafe and found the most delicious cake. So simple, yet so tasty. Mine was the one with the strawberry on top. It had a sort of cocoa cake, like basic spongy cake (pandispan we call it in Romania), but it was crumbled, then a layer of yogurt or cream like mascarpone, then a layer of strawberry jam, then another layer of the cake and cream then cake again and fruits. OMG – I want to recreate that one so bad!

Happy spring! (not really spring here yet)
